The original plan for this family session was an outdoor shoot at East Sooke Park with the ocean, fields and forest as a backdrop. We pivoted and decided on an indoor session to keep the little one out of the blistery cold that hit Victoria that week. I'm so glad we did! No rushing to get out of the cold, no freezing fingers and toes and no weather issues to contend with (such as crazy hair).Â
Instead we were warm and cozy and had all the time to get things just right. I loved the challenge of working with natural light inside. We created some lovely pictures of this young family (and their puppy!) in the intimacy of their own home. The moral of this story is definitely that unexpected change makes for some unexpected opportunities!Â
